The Commemorative marking the 75th anniversary of the wreck of the Blue Comet train which occurred here in 1939, was successfully held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 in Chatsworth. Speakers presented to a standing-room only crowd throughout the day in the hall at the Municipal Building while displays were available for viewing at the White Horse Inn where Blue Comet enthusiasts shared their knowledge of this "deluxe" train that traveled between Jersey City and Atlantic City journeying through our own Pine Barrens. An historical marker along the railroad tracks near the intersection of Routes 563 and 532 was unveiled and will take its place among a total of eleven markers throughout the town on an historical walking tour.
